NFL Week 6 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire
Brock Bowers is good y’all. If you drafted him, congrats, you are one of the few people who are happy about their tight-end situation. Trey McBride and Travis Kelce owners are feeling ok, but you are happy. So take comfort in that.
For those who aren’t happy with their tight end, I’m not sure what to tell you. Try to grab Tucker Kraft but you’ll be streaming the position for the majority of the year like most everyone else!
Speaking of streaming, let’s get into our waiver options. It’s not a great week for streamers, but we have some guys who could help us out this week at all positions. Maybe not always a great help, but still help.
Waiver Targets
QB: Geno Smith vs SF, Kirk Cousins @ CAR, Daniel Jones vs CIN, Andy Dalton vs ATL
RB: Stash if available: Raheem Mostert. Else: Tank Bigsby @ CHI, Tyrone Tracy vs CIN, Roschon Johnson vs JAC
WR: Allen Lazard vs BUF, Jalen Tolbert vs DET, Darius Slayton vs CIN, Michael Wilson @ GB, Josh Downs @ TEN, Stash: Jordan Whittington
TE: If available: Tucker Kraft. Else: Tyler Conklin vs BUF, Cade Otton @ NO
Geno Smith isn’t widely available but he’s among the names I included to stash/play in case they are. Cousins and the Falcons look like they figured out their offense, and now they face a Carolina defense that just gave up 36 points to a struggling Bears offense.
Daniel Jones isn’t my favorite option but he at least has some rushing ability and will get to face struggling Cincinnati. Andy Dalton has a divisional game against the Falcons, and I think the Panthers bounce back against Atlanta after hitting a big speed bump in Chicago.
It’s tough in the running back streets but the priority add that is the consensus among fantasy analysts is Tank Bigsby and despite my previous dislike of Bigsby after his failed rookie year, I can’t deny that he has seemingly turned a corner and should be viewed as a flex play with upside for more should Travis Etienne miss time. Tyrone Tracy and Roschon Johnson are dependent on the backs ahead of them missing time, but if you are desperate both are low-end flex plays if you need some points.
Allen Lazard is the WR2 in New York and that should continue with Rodgers under center. He’s caught four touchdowns this year and the Jets’ offense could see a bump in production with Saleh fired. Jalen Tolbert made a clutch catch at the end of Dallas’ game against Pittsburgh. He’s had at least 6 catches for 82 yards and/or a touchdown in three of his last four games. Michael Wilson is a decent low-end play against Green Bay, though I wouldn’t expect much from him. Slayton is in play if Nabers misses time yet again.
Josh Downs has been good since his return from injury and faces the Titans’ defense this week. It’s not a game I would target but if Tennessee can be beaten, it’s through the slot. On average, of all the points scored by wide receivers against opposing defenses, 40% of those points come from receivers in the slot. The Titans are a league-high 55%. Hopefully, that was clear as mud. Basically, Tennessee gives up a disproportional amount of points to slot wide receivers.
Keep the faith with Tyler Conklin. He’s had 6, 8, and 9 targets in the last three games with at least 55 yards in two of them. Cade Otton is in a similar boat, with 8, 9, and 4 targets in his last three games and at least 44 yards in all of them. Neither one of these guys has as touchdown, but at least the usage is nice. In this tight-end landscape, we’ll take it.
